How does the expiry of sanctions work?

Certain sanctions can be issued with an expiry date. The sanction will remain in effect until the expiry date is reached or the sanction has been revoked. 
 
Any sanction with no set expiry date will remain in effect until it has been amended with an expiry date or revoked.
